Allah Rakha Rahman is an Indian film composer, record producer, singer and songwriter who works predominantly in Tamil and Hindi films.

In 2010, the Indian government awarded him the Padma Bhushan, the nation's third-highest civilian award.

Among Rahman's awards include six National Film Awards, two Academy Awards, two Grammy Awards, a BAFTA Award, a Golden Globe Award, fifteen Filmfare Awards and seventeen Filmfare Awards South.

A.R Rahman & Movie Scoring

A.R Rahman is an Indian composer who has been in the field for many years. In addition to composing music for documentaries and advertisements, he also provides music for the entertainment industry.

Panchathan Record Inn is a movie-making studio run by AR Rahman. It was started during the 1990s when recording the Tamil film Roja.

He wanted to get some experience in this field and to learn from his previous ventures. The first two films were Roja and Bombay. After that he started making the movie Thiruda Thiruda, which was a huge success.

He then followed that up by scoring several songs for Tamil language films, including S. Shankar's first movie Gentleman. It was Rahman's first Hollywood film, and he scored the movie's score. He also received an award for it.

Eventually, he became famous for his music in the Tamil film industry. In fact, he has become one of the most successful composers in Tamil cinema.

His music for Slumdog Millionaire (2008) earned him Best Original Score and Best Original Song at the 81st Academy Awards.

He was also awarded Best Compilation Soundtrack Album and Best Song Written for Visual Media at the 2010 Grammy Awards.

A.R Rahman & Philanthropy

A.R Rahman has become a philanthropist, donating and raising money for a number of causes. He was honoured by Stanford University for his contributions to music. He received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Rotary Club of Madras.

He was included in the Time list of the most influential people. He introduced 7.1 surround sound to South Indian movies. He received an honorary doctorate from the Berklee College of Music, and Aligarh Muslim University. He was the writer and director of the film Le Musk.
